Copilot will now enhance your team’s collaboration.

Have you discovered Team Copilot yet? It’s a new addition to Microsoft’s lineup of AI tools, set to be released later this year.

Envision Team Copilot as a sophisticated AI assistant engineered to enhance team collaboration. While Microsoft 365 Copilot serves as a personal assistant for tasks like composing emails or summarizing meetings, Team Copilot elevates this by concentrating on collective activities.

Team Copilot can assist your team in three key areas:

1. **Meeting Facilitation**: During a Teams video call, Team Copilot can take live notes visible and editable by all participants. It can generate follow-up tasks, monitor time allocation for each agenda item, and support both in-person and hybrid meetings when integrated with Teams Rooms.

2. **Group Chat Assistant**: In Teams group chats, Copilot can condense lengthy discussions to emphasize critical information and respond to group inquiries, helping everyone stay focused and well-informed without having to sift through extensive chat histories.

3. **Project Management**: Within Microsoft Planner, Team Copilot can orchestrate project tasks and objectives. It can allocate these tasks to team members and autonomously handle certain tasks, like drafting blog posts. It alerts team members when their contributions are needed.

Productivity encompasses more than individual tasks; effective teamwork is just as crucial. By facilitating group-oriented tasks, Team Copilot aims to significantly boost your team’s overall productivity.

It’s essential to recognize that while Team Copilot is highly beneficial, it does not substitute a human facilitator. It doesn’t lead meetings or manage inclusivity but supports by organizing agendas, managing time, taking notes, and distributing files.

Think of it more as a business insights tool that aids in managing group interactions and meetings rather than controlling or moderating discussions. And who knows what future updates might bring!

Team Copilot will be available for preview to Microsoft 365 customers with a Copilot subscription later this year. Although it’s still under development, its potential to transform team productivity is substantial.

Stay tuned for its release and consider how Team Copilot might enhance your workflow and team productivity.
