Must Have Tech for Working from Home

We’ve covered the enormous push to work from home since the start of the pandemic. Working from home is here to stay. As we see some reprieve from the Covid-19 pandemic some of the workforce is headed back into the office, yet much of the workforce will stay remote.

Remote work benefits employees and employers alike for various reasons:

  • Work-life balance.
  • Less overhead costs (less or no office space).
  • Won’t have to pay for office supplies.
  • No wasted time commuting.
  • Freedom, and many more.

That being said, what are some of the must-have technologies for working remotely?

Wireless Charging Station

With all the devices we use daily, our desk can quickly become cluttered with all of the different cords to charge your devices. A wireless charging station will help you eliminate all of the clutter. Wireless charging stations allow you to simply drop your phone, headphones, and watch on the station to charge with only one cord running to the charging station.

Wireless Headphones

A quality pair of headphones is key to working remotely. We often have many distractions going on all around us when we are working remotely. A good pair of headphones can help block sound and provide the tunes that you like to help you focus. When you have a pair that includes a mic, you may also use them for work calls; making it easier to focus on the conversation and for the other participant(s) to hear you clearly.

A smart speaker

Smart speakers give you various digital assistant features, which are extremely beneficial when working from home. Use voice commands to quickly set appointments, reminders, take notes, and more. You may also use it for background noise and easy listening while working. Smart speakers help you stay on top of your “to-do’s” while remaining efficient. Ranging in price, pick what best suits you.

Laptop Stand

Do you use a laptop for work? Many of us do. A laptop stand will help alleviate neck strain by raising your laptop more to eye level. Laptop stands help with video calls, typing, and help prevent the laptop from overheating with open bottoms (opposed to using a stack of books or a box which disrupts airflow).

Wi-Fi Mesh Network

We already have multiple devices connected to our home internet, which working from home only adds to it. All of the connected devices can stress your network, causing poor connection and slow speeds. While working from home, a reliable internet connection is a must. A Wi-Fi mesh network helps ensure you have a stable and reliable internet connection no matter where you are in your house.

A mesh Wi-Fi networking blankets your house with Wi-Fi using several networking components. The main router connects directly to your modem and a series of nodes placed throughout the house. They are all part of the same wireless networking, sharing the same SSID and password.

A desk lamp

When working from home, the quality of lighting in your workspace may have a large impact on your productivity. Have you ever felt drained on a rainy day? Poor lighting can have a similar effect, reducing your energy, dampening your mood, increasing eyestrain, and leading to headaches. While good lighting helps relieve stress from your eyes, improve your mode, makes your feel more vitalized, all improving your productivity.

An all-in-one printer

Whenever you need to print something quickly, it’s nice to have a printer on hand as opposed to going to a print shop or asking a friend to print something for you. Most smartphones and tablets can scan documents, however, it’s more time-consuming and difficult? All-in-One printers offer high-quality scans for all your scanning needs. You’re able to easily connect your devices to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth printers as well, letting you print while scrolling on your phone or tablet.
